Chemical dosing

• The product label always takes precedence. If a calculator result differs from the directions on your chemical's label, follow the label.
• Dose conservatively: add no more than half of a calculated amount at once, circulate, retest, and adjust. Test kits, volume estimates, and product strength all carry error.
• Never mix pool chemicals with each other, and never add water to concentrated chemicals, add chemicals to water. Store chlorine products and acids separately.
• Follow the handling guidance published by the CDC and EPA for pool chemical safety, including wearing appropriate protection when handling acid and chlorine.

Cost estimates

Heating and energy cost results use state-average residential rates and standard engineering approximations. Your actual utility rate, weather, equipment condition, and usage pattern will change the real number, treat results as a comparison tool between options, not a quote.
